As such, we avoid behavior or activities that create a conflict of interest that compromise our ability to report the news fairly and accurately, uninfluenced by any person or action.
Further, NC Local’s board of directors, staff and contractors agree to abide by the Code of Ethics set forth by the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ).
NC Local’s board of directors, staff members and contractors are encouraged to consult this policy and the SPJ guidelines. If there is any doubt, a supervisor must be consulted.
To ensure the highest standards of editorial independence, NC Local includes disclosures on any content where necessary to address a perceived conflict of interest.
