The Alamance Fabric is a community-first local news initiative powered by NC Local, a nonprofit, nonpartisan news organization. We produce a local weekly newsletter that helps residents navigate and understand life here in Alamance County while staying informed about key civic issues. We combine original reporting, news shared by our news and community partners, community engagement and events.

The Fabric was built from deep community listening across Alamance, and community members helped us shape our plan for a trusted, community-rooted source of digital local news and connection.

Our name is a direct nod to the county’s influential textile history. Through our newsletter and beyond, The Alamance Fabric connects our community and gives it a sense of place. It’s news that keeps us woven together.

The Alamance Fabric is made possible by a founding grant from Impact Alamance and funding from other sources, including sponsorships. NC Local’s funding policy is here.
