NC Local Community Conversations
These are our flagship community listening events, which are designed to foster open, participatory dialogue using guided discussions around key questions. These gatherings allow people to share their experiences, ideas, and concerns while building on one another’s perspectives. Read more about our community listening efforts.
Storytelling and News Events
We bring together journalists and community members to produce events about important topics. Through live storytelling and interviews with community members, we bring issues to life.
Journalist gatherings
We produce an annual statewide journalism summit called the NC News & Information Summit. Our 2026 Summit is the fifth annual event, co-produced with the NC Open Government Coalition. This event typically draws about 300 people from across our news, information and legal ecosystems, plus others from outside the state who share expertise and lessons.
